DC–NYC Combo Tour

6 Days · 2 Cities — SAMPLE Itinerary

Grades 6–12 · American History, Civics, Immigration, Science & Culture

OVERVIEW:

The DC–NYC Combo Tour is one of our most popular educational experiences — combining the political heart of America with its most iconic city in one seamless 6-day journey. Three days in Washington, DC bring students face-to-face with the monuments, memorials, and institutions that define American democracy. Three days in New York City open their eyes to the power of immigration, culture, science, and global urban life.

One of the unique features of this tour is its flexibility: teachers choose the direction that fits their school calendar and itinerary preferences. Whether you start in the gravity of Washington and build toward the energy of New York, or arrive in the city that never sleeps first and end with the solemnity of the nation's capital — both sequences create a powerful, unforgettable arc for your students.

For the sample itinerary below, we've shown the DC → NYC direction. Simply toggle the direction selector in the itinerary section to see the NYC → DC sequence instead.

Your Choice, Your Tour

One of the things teachers love most about this tour: you decide the direction. Flying into New York? Start there. Prefer to begin in the capital and build up to the big city excitement? Do DC first. Our team accommodates either sequence with the same quality experience, same guides, same included sites, and same attention to detail.

What Teachers Are Saying

Educators who experienced both cities with TourDCwithUS.

“We did NYC first then DC and it was the perfect sequence. Coming off the energy of New York City — the Statue of Liberty, the 9/11 Memorial, the sheer scale of Manhattan — and then arriving in Washington for the quiet power of the Lincoln Memorial at night was an incredible emotional journey. Several of my kids said it was the best trip of their lives.”

Ms. Tamara Osei-Bonsu

7th Grade Social Studies Teacher, Lincoln Middle School, Columbus, OH

“I was hesitant about a 6-day trip logistics-wise. But honestly, TourDCwithUS made the DC-to-NYC transfer completely invisible for our students and parents. They had a comfortable motorcoach, the hotel in New York was perfectly situated, and every single reservation was in order. Our parent chaperones were blown away by the organization.”

Mr. Rafael Gutierrez
