7:00 am Depart from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School (101 N Street NW, Washington DC, DC 20001)

9:30 am Arrival at Lincoln University

10:00 am Visit and tour Lincoln University (subject to availabiltiy. Guided tour will be requested, but cannot be guaranteed).

Drive to Philadelphia Time for lunch

3:00 pm Visit the Eastern State Penitentiary for a guided tour. The Penitentiary, built in the 1820's, is a National Historic Landmark. Notorious criminals such as bank robber Willie Sutton and Al Capone were held inside its unique wagon wheel design.

***This afternoon could be replaced with another college visit, say Morgan, Towson, etc.

6:00 pm Dinner at TBA

8:00 pm Check in Hotel

Day 2 - Saturday June 1st, 2024

​

8:00 am Breakfast at your hotel and check out.

10:00 am Visit and tour Temple University (subject to availability. Guided tour will be requested but not guaranteed). Time for lunch at your expense.

1:00 pm Visit The African American Museum of Philadelphia.

3:00 pm Depart for New York City in our motorcoach

***We could do another college visit before Manhattan if you have any in mind***

​

5:30PM Driver drops us at our Manhattan Hotel

Check in, leave bags in rooms, meet in lobby for evening activities

​

***Group is on foot or on the Subway while in NYC***

​

6:00 pm Admission to the RiseNY experience

Dinner

10:00 pm Return to Hotel

Day 3 - Sunday June 2nd, 2024

8:00 am Breakfast

9:00 am Boat ride to visit the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. Time for lunch at your expense.

***We could go back to the hotel to change for performance

3:00 pm Attend a performance of "The Lion King" at the Minskoff Theatre (tickets are subject to availability at the time of booking)

6:00 pm Dinner

8:00 pm Admission to the Empire State Building Observatory (***Students may pick ONE Observatory: Empire State, Top of the Rock, World Trade Center, The Edge)

Return to Hotel

Day 4 - Monday June 3rd, 2024

8:00 am Breakfast

10:00 am Visit Central Park including Strawberry Fields, Bethesda Fountain and the Alice in Wonderland sculpture with time for lunch in the park at your expense. Time for lunch at your expense.

2:00 pm Visit and tour Columbia University (subject to availability. Guided tour will be requested but not guaranteed).

 

** Everyone MUST be vaccinated against Covid in order to visit Columbia University **

4:00 pm Enjoy an Upper Manhattan tour. Some of the sights you will view include: Harlem, Malcolm Shabazz Mosque, Sugar Hill, the Morris-Jumel Mansion, Strivers Row, the Abyssinian Baptist Church, the Apollo Theater and the Alexander Hamilton House.

6:00 pm Dinner at Sylvia's Restaurant.

8:00 pm Visit Madame Tussauds NY. Touch, chat and even sing with the amazingly life-like wax figures of the best-known personalities from New York and around the world.

Day 5 - Tuesday June 4th, 2023

​

8:00 am Breakfast and Check out of hotel – We will leave our luggage in the hotel luggage room

10:00 am Visit and tour John Jay University (subject to availability. Guided tour will be requested, but cannot be guaranteed).

 

** Everyone MUST be vaccinated against Covid in order to visit Columbia University **

***This would be a good activity to replace with your group or with UN visit.

 

I picked 2PM as a train time thinking you would want to get back home by 5-6, but if both activities end up scheduled today due to Memorial Day Monday, we can take a later train.

Time for lunch at your expense.

12:30 pm Return to Hotel to collect luggage

Head to Penn Station to check in to Amtrak

2:00ish Amtrak from NY Penn Station to DC Union Station

5-6 pm Approximate arrival at DC Union Station
