Day 4

Breakfast at Hotel

We depart to Misurina Lake. Misurina is Auronzo di Cadore town’s highest hamlet. Its name ‘the Pearl of the Dolomites’ tells you a great deal about its beauty and magnificence. Its 1756 metre above sea level lake reflects the south east slopes of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the Cadini, Sorapiss and Cristallo massifs and is in the heart of the UNESCO Dolomite Heritage area. Famous the world over for its special microclimate and its pure, health-giving air, Misurina is a centre for the cure of respiratory illnesses – together with Davos in Switzerland – with its Pio XII Institute. So Misurina is to all intents and purposes a ‘Healthy Air Oasis’.

Group Lunch at one of our very favorite restaurants

We take our private bus to the top to see up close the Tre Cime of Lavaredo. The Sesto Dolomites are a true paradise for every hiking and climbing enthusiast, offering both easy and more challenging tours with great views. To hike along the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Three Peaks of Lavaredo), the emblem of the Dolomites, however, is an absolute must both for tourists and locals.

Day 8

Breakfast at Hotel

Olive Oil and Wine Tasting

We will load our private bus and take you to a couple of Vineyards. We are going not only to a Wine Tasting but an Olive Oil Tasting. Discover Istria's not-so-known gems. The Red soil and hills close to the sea make home for both local and international grape varieties, used to make a broad variety of wine styles. We especially recommend it to lovers of reds.

Poreč's Liquid Gold
The affluence of the Istrian peninsula is based on olive oil production, a tradition that is over two thousand years old. The olive, a symbol of peace and health, is considered by many to be a valuable Mediterranean fruit and its oil has been called liquid gold by those who live in areas where it is cultivated. The fruit of the olive tree, the stone, gives some of the healthiest drops of oil.  Although olive oil production is divided into various categories of quality, among the healthiest oils are precisely extra virgin olive oils, rich in vitamins, natural antioxidants and carotene.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Who is this Tour for?

This tour is couples, families, and kids of all ages.

Will I need a visa to travel to Italy?

Italy is part of the Schengen travel zone. Until the end of 2021, Canadian and US citizens do not require a visa for stays of up to 90 days within the zone. The European Travel Information and Authorization System, or ETIAS, takes effect from January 2022. The ETIAS negates the need for a tourist visa for both US and Canadian citizens. It instead requires incoming travellers to register and pay a small fee at least 15 days before arriving in Europe. Each authorization is good for up to 3 years, provided the authorized passport does not expire during that time. If a traveller changes or renews their passport, they will need to re-apply for new authorization under the ETIAS.

Is Italy safe?

In normal circumstances, yes—Italy is a safe place for travel. Here's what you need to know about traveling to Italy in the age of the coronavirus:
June 17th: Italy has lifted its travel restrictions for select countries. Citizens from the EU, the UK, or from within the Schengen Zone can travel to Italy. They do not have to quarantine.
However, Italy still has travel restrictions for citizens of countries outside of Europe.

Do I need to be vaccinated to enter Italy?

Both vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers from the United States are permitted to enter Italy without a negative COVID test or proof of recovery.
Once you’ve arrived, you’ll need to check and follow the COVID-19 rules in Italy.

Do I need Travel Insurance?

YES! Regardless of your vaccine status, I cannot impress upon my guests enough the importance of travel insurance with CFAR (Cancel for Any Reason) and IFAR (Interruption for Any Reason) options. Insurance understandably costs more now than in the Before Times, but it is worth every penny both should you need it, and for peace of mind.

Vaccinations and drinking water in Italy

If you’re traveling from the US and are up to date on your regular vaccines, you’re all set in terms of medical preparations. No special vaccines or medicines required! And although you’ll be mostly drinking Aperol spritz, Chianti, or other classic Italian drinks, be reassured that you can totally drink the water. Italy’s tap water is safe. In fact, it’s just as good or even better than what you’d drink in the US.

Is Italy a family-friendly destination?

Italy is a destination that has something to offer to everyone. From mouthwatering cuisine, historical landmarks, and breathtaking natural surroundings, the country offers endless options for its visitors. Families with young children will have no challenges finding something to do as there are many excursions and activities to keep both parents and children interested and eager.
